Yo!

• Have you heard of an app named Peerlist? This is like Twitter, but built exclusively for developers. This has a feature “Launchpad” where every week people publish their products/projects and get voting from other users.
• This week, I built a straightforward habit tracking app. named Start Ember. To approach the yearly resolutions, I made them into habits. For example, to learn to draw, I want to build a habit of drawing daily. I have been tracking these habits in sticky notes, which has its own cons. So I built this app.
• I built the whole thing in a single day. But I want to try launching it in Launchpad, which turned this week engaging. The promotions, the banners, the daily posts, they all added up to something. Watching the upvotes climb felt genuinely exciting.
• As for promotion, I didn’t want to go above and beyond; I decided to promote it in the peer list only. Every day this past week, I posted updates about Start Ember on Peerlist. Wrote a blog on what made me build this and promoted this blog and my project again in the Peerlist. As of today, the last day of this week’s launchpad, I have 24 upvotes. 24 people that I don’t know personally liked the project.
